15/30 Poem A Day Challenge

April 15, 2018

Love

Today I watched you
playing with our ten month old granddaughter.

You placed a potholder
on the dining room coffee table.

She grasped it and
dropped it to the carpet.

You rescued it and
slapped it on the table.

She grabbed it and
threw it on the floor.

You, theatrically, retrieved it and
slammed it on the hard surface.

She, with equal flair, snatched it up and
putting her whole body into it, smashed it back down.

You
deliberately
bent
down,
clasped,
lifted,
and
rotated it
slowly at first,
then with increasing speed,
spinning round the table.

She looked at you
You looked at her

Grins and giggles
soon turned guffaws
of loud and raucous laughter.
